The under £200 watch thread!
Discussion
My wife has now perfected an eye roll of Olympic standard whenever the postman brings a watch box.
Look, she got the nicest watch out of all of us; I choose to go for quantity AND quality.
(On that subject the Steeldive Willard is in the country, apparently, so will be landing at Barchetta Towers shortly. Happy days)

My dad's all-day-every-day-for-years Tissot. After he died it was en route to the charity shop courtesy of my mum when I asked if I could have it. She was mystified and remarked several times how it was 'only' gold plated and how worn it was. Battle weary, I preferred.
Since I took it on, it has had a service, a new strap and a new crystal. Every time I have something done I see something else that needs doing. I picked it up yesterday having had the face restored and see the hands are a bit tired
I'll also look out for a box for it.
Cost: £0
Restoration: £520 so far
It qualifies for the thread because on a good day it might be worth £100.
I'm enjoying bringing it back to good condition.

Also, that lovely Tissot reminds me a lot of the one worn by James Stewart in Rear Window. I’ve just checked and they’re not really that alike but they definitely have a similar vibe to me - very classy
Newsflash!!DickyC and classy finally used (almost) in the same sentence!!!
But you're quite correct it is a lovely classic watch and definitely worth the time and money to restore!!

After missing out on the Timex Tide watch from a few weeks ago, I decided to combine that feature and a bit of retro G-Shock digital. Understanding tides is important as I live in Birmingham.
Bought as a summer holiday beater (I am going to the coast!), I'm mostly happy with it, although the display can be hard to read and it feels a bit small as I've got used to larger modern watches.

Bargain! I would buy one of these but I think they are too big for my skinny wrists.

Waking up to a very grey drizzly morning on the last day of our few days away in east Yorkshire we went to Scarborough for a mooch.
All fairly uneventful except I went on a bus (park & ride) for second or third time this century. During this few days I've also decided that all the Polish and eastern european waiters/esses should be tempted back with massive pay rises as the locals just don't seem to be up to it. Anyway I digress.
Window shopping as you do I saw winking at me from a display case this.
Reduced to £89.99. Well pleased, it's my first ecodrive and first titanium watch.
I've been looking for an explorer style timepiece so pulled the trigger (shoot me now). Shame the strap is a bit rattly but I'm sure it is solid link even if it's an integrated end link.

I’ve got one, it has folded links in a solid style, worn snug it doesn’t rattle too much. Excellent work there! Cracking watch for the price. Reduced to £89.99. Well pleased, it's my first ecodrive and first titanium watch.
A slightly rattly bracelet never bothers me as long as the fit is good.
