A really really nice guy, spent about 5 hours at his house, dinner with his friends and a lift back to my hotel in his G63.

YouTube is just a persona.

And it seems Nico fell in love with one of my VC so now I have a spare slot in the box biggrin

That's quite the variety! Two splunker's favourites and then a diamond encrusted DD!

I had the white dial Exp2 but just didn't gel with it.

Fully agree they’re chalk and cheese. The DD will go into daily rotation, the explorers are to take place off my other watches when I’m washing the car/doing DIY st from the ever growing list SWMBO/beach days.

I’ve also just wanted the explorer for a long time and grew very tired of the dealer experience. I spent a good cpl hundred grand within the group and I can’t even have an explorer without games.

If has arrived!

It’s very classy and dressy IMHO, but for some reason it feels too “simple”. Not sure about it…

Nice, however the spacing would drive me a bit nuts top/bottom of the case.

That is not a well designed watch. I think you should go with your gut on 'not sure' and return it.

Picked this up today. Speedmaster “Tintin”. Will sit alongside my other Omega’s. Hoping to give it some wrist time once the bracelet has been resized.

Managed to finally get through to a AD that might be able to get me a BB burgundy in the next few weeks!

Also looking for a little help on this, my dad gave me this to look in to getting restored it was my grandads was given to him for 25 years of service has his name engraved on the back with the date 1976 I have no idea what model it is, it’s manual winding ?

It’s absolutely priceless to me and just want it back in running order and am reluctant to send it to omega with previous bad experiences any suggestions much appreciated?

Sorry for potato picture and I know it needs a lot of work !

I've just left a 1950's Seamaster with Omega to repair, service and restore. They've quoted 52 weeks and say that only a couple of guys in Switzerland can do the work.

I would have thought Omega themselves should be the best option.

Seriously, 52 weeks? Are they allergic to saying "a year".

Seems so! I have the receipt for it in front of me as it happens - and it says 'lead time 52 weeks'.

52 weeks, that's just 1 week times 52. A year is a long time! Marketing for the win!

I had a few bad experiences with them a few years ago they had my 5 month old watch for near enough 18 months, but if it’s the only option then that’s what it will have to be

I think it is a long way from your only option. There are lots of competent people who could service it for you, and possibly be more sympathetic doing it too.

Not really incoming, but returning from service:

2264.50.00 just back after about 5 months at Omega. Was the victim of a leaking battery and also had problems with getting the crown into the date setting position.

I have a 1959 Seamaster. Sent it to a guy that came highly rated in Pennsylvania. Got it back 4 weeks later cleaned and serviced (told him not to touch the dial). Works faultlessly. Total cost including shipping $200.
