I doubt many in the military use them going by how reliable my 3 have been. Good service but crap reliability from suunto.

You'll be OK with a Vecter or X-Lander, but the Core was beset with problems from the off. I think they've sorted it now though but they dropped the ball on the early ones that's for sure.

I read about the reliability problems about the early cores- better reports of recent models. I know a number of Royal Marines who use it, and they swear by it. It's a big watch, but I like the way it looks so different to the Casio
