Could a company do this profitably - if so, isn't it going to turn out to be the same as 'buying/flipping' them yourself anyway? Maybe the margin is greater on bags?
I wonder if there is a premium on 'military issue' handbags, or the famous James Bond handbag, or the first handbag in space?
Women, silly things...
(oh, a Zero Halliburton - I wonder if she'd like that for her Birthday...)

What happens if they scuff the handbag? Wait a sec. £800 for a bag?
This is the place we talk about a good few grand for something that tells us the time.So we can't really point fingers.
Although I thoroughly agree with your sentiment.

That's my read on it anyway - seeing as it's your sentence, I'll have to bow to your greater knowledge of your own reasoning. I know - a-typical PH behaviour not having an argument about it just because

So if we can make a comparison between the price of watches and rings, what can we compare bags and shoes to?

Serious question; we like to think of our watches being made by an old guy that looks like Pinochio's father with a small microscrope attached to one eye, hunched over in his wonderful workshop. Is it even remotely close to the truth?
I met a Rolex watch technician not so long ago and I stood next to him for some time, ignoring him because I was looking for Pinochio's father. He was a good looking 27 year old guy driving an Audi TT 3.2. Talk about shattering your illusions piquetuk said:

Ya, what he said. I was lucky enough to be shown around the IWC factory last week. It truly was a mind blowing experience. If you get a chance to do it ... Then do it!
Anyhow, The biggest surprise to me was that they all seem to be in their 20's even the team leads did not look much over 30! The only "older" guys were the ones in the turning/milling area.
Of course watching them turn, mill, polish, assemble, test, fettle and fiddle put butterflies in my stomach, a wobble in my knees and made me come over all unnecessary!

With actually reference to the question.
For me, owning the thing is part of the deal. I want the watch because it's mine, not so much that other people get to see if IYSWIM.
I buy them because I like them. But I always like something else. Being able to rent by the month allows me to expeirence lots of watches rather than just the one. This is the same argument she used on me when she joined. We still end up spenging silly money on fecking bags. For me, owning the thing is part of the deal. I have indians down the road, if I beat them would they be able to make me watches? I'd much rather do this than pay cash
