WatchFinder Buy Back Guarantee
Discussion
I've tried to deal with them twice
I've yet to buy anything from them
The last time I commented about them on a forum somebody else said....
Watch finder let me down aswell. I bought an omega sea master off them with a warantee which had been serviced prior to me buying it. Despite being automatic it stopped working regardless of how long it was worn so I contacted them and they took it in for fixing. Came back to me 2 months later fixed, which lasted 3 weeks and it stopped again. Contacted them again and they took it in again, only to tell me it had been opened and tampered with! Took me a further 3 months to get my money back on a pile of ste service and crap watch they had clearly never serviced in the first place. Suffice to say, I won't ever use them again.

Has anyone taken advantage of this offer from WatchFinder?
Did the try to wiggle out of every little thing to not buy the watch back at the guaranteed price?
I bought a GMT Master II from them last year which hasn't missed a beat. I offered 15% less than it was being offered for on the web, they accepted and the deal was done in a day and no problems so far whatsoever.Did the try to wiggle out of every little thing to not buy the watch back at the guaranteed price?
Are they messing you about Matt?

I've probably jinxed is now, but i recently bought an Omega Speedster Professional from them with no problems at all; discount included.
Although I did actually walk in to the shop within the Royal Exchange and was severed by the lovely Lacey. Can't say that i will be using the Buy back guarantee as i love the watch.

They seem to be selling all the watches on PH classifieds...
This was the one I enquired about
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/non-motorin...
'This Panerai has undergone a thorough inspection of water resistance, accuracy, functionality and condition to determine the level of reconditioning required to meet our strict standards'
Near no room for negotiation on price despite no B&P
And the crown bridge is fitted upside down

It does seem a bit strong price wise for a 10 year old, non in-house movement piece with no papers. As you have spotted, It is unique, with it having an upside down crown protector. With the sticker on the back it looks like it's been opened and maybe serviced, although you'd have to wonder what else they managed to put on backwards, apart from the crown guard. You could put that right yourself though: it's held on with just two screws. This was the one I enquired about

Having been burned a few times selling Panerais with ETA movements back into the trade, I stick to the Manifattura pieces now. They lose money too, just not as much.
