IWC Pilot / Spitfire Chrono vs Fortis B42 Pilot Chrono
Discussion
Hi all
I have a real burning desire to buy an IWC Spitfire Chrono but thought I'd seek your thoughts/experience. I know there is a separate thread on IWC vs Omega Speedy but my query is a little different: I've had a Fortis B42 Pilot Chrono for about 4 years (picked it up at 3 months old for about a third of the RRP now) and I love it. My worry is that the IWC Pilot and Spitfire Chrono models are just too similar to the B42, having ETA 7750-based movements (I'm sure the IWC variant is superior to the Fortis) with exactly the same dial layouts and functions and an almost identical look (dial colour aside). I'm just completely undecided. Should I go for something a little different?
An IWC Portugese is a little out of my budget though I have considered an IWC Aquatimer (maybe a little too similar to my Omega SMP), a Panerai Luminor Marina or a Bell & Ross BR01 (I keep coming back round to this due to the size!)
Any advice or other ideas?
Thanks
