Hello chaps.

Now, I know absolutely nothing about watches. I do however, like the look of them. I've been known to spend ages just gawping at the lovely items in Evo's flash-gizmo section, and have recently been thinking about getting something to adorne my wrist.

I have not got much money to spend, so would be looking at something (very) second hand. I also only have one real requirement, and that is to have a leather strap, or at least something that wont catch on my gorrila-like arm hair.

My budget is around £200-250, so what would you guys suggest? I would hate to spend the money on something naff, and be laughed at by the posh lads at work with their proper timepieces. The last watch I bought was probably won in one of those £1-a-go machines when I was about 8.

Many thanks in advance, and sorry for such a vague, and low knowledge post.

-a.

Thanks - I was reading the other chaps, but that was new watches - I was wondering if a better deal might be had with 2nd hand. I'll do some ebaying for the brands you suggest - thanks!

sorry didnt read your first post but you can get the same one with a leather strap!

i was looking at these when i bought my ball, if it was a automatic i would have snapped it up instantly. if you look around the web you will find these about £15/20 cheaper (bracelet & leather)

That looks really nice, I will try and find one locally to have a proper look - thanks

Well, I finally bought my new watch.

I really like the look of the Tissot's, but wasn't sure which model - some are too fussy, and some not fussy enough.. I decided on a nice Automatic jobby, a PRS 516. It's fussy, but not overly so like a Seiko. It's heavy, but not too heavy.

So, here's a couple of pants pics (and one stock photo).

Interesting metalwork in front of the rotor. Is it motorsport-related?
They sponsor a lot of motorsport stuff don't they? there's a little book with it with sporty stuff, results from last year and what-not. (as well as a history of Tissot and another book)
