I don't really know a lot about watches and currently have a 10-15 year old TAG. Not sure what it is, but it cost about a grand then. It's starting to get a bit tatty. i.e. the glow in the dark stuff is coming off and the silver face is going a little yellow.

So what should i buy?

I wear the watch constantly, so what ever I buy will stay on my wrist at work and play. I like a metal strap, need it to be waterproof and pretty hard wearing. I have been thinking about a Breitling as I quite like the weight and they look pretty classy. What else is out there to consider?

Given the budget you have a huge choice but you really haven't said much about what you actually like or what you're after.

I like to steer clear of salesman's watches so Brietling, Omega and the like are out.

Try looking at Glycine, Ball or Sinn for something a little bit different with a good price/quality ratio.
Ok, I like a metal strap and has to be waterproof and pretty rugged as I never take it off. I don't want digital and I don't really want a white/silver face as i find it's hard to read with low light.

I can take or leave stop watch or other small dials, though would like and do use a rotating bezel.

As i said, I know little about watches and I have never herd of the brands you mention. (though I will goggle them now)So i guess I'm after something "different" and tastefull.
