When shaking the watch, some make loud whirring noises, others are completely quiet. I've got one that makes a quiet "tink" sound when the rotor has turned far enough to "add power" to the store. Is this a problem? It's an ETA 2842-2 movement.

I don't think it should make a 'tink' sound, has it affected the time keeping?
Not at all. It's the most accurate bar the digital watches!

Well, that's the thing. What is making this quiet "tink"? If it is not going to damage things then having someone open it up (even if they are a pro) risks damage.

It's definitely a "tink" rather than a "click". I've got one or two... or maybe 15 automatics and this is the first time I've heard it go "tink".

My IWC makes a slight 'tink'

My JLC made a fairly noticeable rattle,

It'll be fine.
Well, if the IWC does it and I aspire to own an IWC...... sod it. biggrin
