Safest way to sell a watch ?
Discussion
I have decided to sell one of my small collection due to lack of wrist time.
I've had an offer on the watch, lower than I'd accept to be honest, however I was wondering about the safest way to transfer funds etc once a price had been agreed.
I've had an e-mail along the lines of "love the watch, am interested, would you take '£ XXXX' for a quick sale. Can do an instant bank transfer if interested". I have responded by e-mail (as no contact number was given) by saying the offer was a bit low but I am open to negotiation and requesting the potential buyer contact me on the number in the ad.
All seems genuine enough, but has got me thinking. I don't have a paypal account, so what would be the safest way to proceed negotiations ?
Not sold anything of value over the 'net before, the car I sold was face to face after initial contact from PH classifieds.
Any tips on avoiding scammers / best way to transact etc ?
Cheers

Bank transfer/BACS/CHAPS is always favourite IMHO, unless you can meet face to face at the bank to pay cash in. I never understand people not wanting to give their bank details to a stranger, when the sort and account numbers are printed on your cheque book.
I'd take a bank transfer over Paypal every time.
Fair comment I'd take a bank transfer over Paypal every time.
