Now, without naming and shaming, I strongly suggest people avoid the web-based site that suggests they are a timepiece factory. While I wait for a monster to come around at a sensible price, I decided to order the G-shock I linked to on another thread, the Gulfman G9100R-4DR for some fun biggrin

Creation watches had it on offer, but when I went to buy, a message appeared saying they weren't shipping to Europe frown however a quick google showed it on this other site for a similar price. I went through the buying process, but when I got to the final stage to confirm the order, just got an error message. Tried again, same message.

"No problem", thought I, "I'll just phone this 0845 number and order it by phone, it must just be a glitch."

The nice lady took my order without any problem, read back the model number to me to confirm and said since it was late afternoon, it wouldn't be shipped until the next day, and would arrive today. So far so good. I arrived home from work this evening to find the package waiting for me. Eagerly, I opened the box, and the G-Shock tin inside... Only to find this...

Yes, it's a G-shock. But that's about it. The label on the box quite correctly identifies this as a G9000-4ER MUDMAN furious I've had no email confirmation of the order, despite them asking for my email address, and there was no packing slip, delivery note or invoice in the box - just the watch.

So... tried to call them again on the offchance, not expecting a reply, but I wasn't expecting the same number to connect me to an American accented answerphone for somebody called Aurum Products. Didn't leave a message, but decided to use their website 'Contact Us' form instead. Clicked the 'submit' button... Error message rage

So now I wish I'd been less hasty. A closer look at the website doesn't fill me with confidence - all the links at the bottom just lead back to the homepage, except the 'contact us' section which shows a jewellers' shopfront, an address in London, and the same 0845 phone number.

I'll be back on the phone first thing in the morning, but just wanted to type my shout and vent a little.

Thanks smile

Nice smile I was looking at those 'Men In Rust Black' editions earlier - I could well be tempted next time wink

Update about the dealer though - managed to speak to them (after several calls and sevral hours of promised calls back mad ) and they're sending a courier tomorrow to collect the mudman and return it.
