Looking for some advice on this please, as I know a lot of people on this forum are pretty clued in as to prices in the used market.

I'm looking to sell my Omega Seamaster Automatic, and keep the cash until I go abroad (Dubai) and purchase my next watch.

The watch is perfect condition, papers and box etc, a 97 model, all service reciepts, and I'm only getting offered £400 from dealers for it.

I feel this is a little on the low side. Am I being overly optimisitc about its value (I thought as much as £550ish from a dealer) or is this the state of the market right now?

If it is, I'll be keeping it!

It's mint condition, recently serviced and all the little scratches were buffed out of the clasp etc during its last seal check. Unless you're holding it right up to your eyes, you'd be hard pressed to tell it from spit new tbh.

It's the 'large face' one as well if that matters.

Thanks for the help smile

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the advice. As I said, for £400 I was just going to keep it - I have the feeling it might end up a bit of a future classic.

Dumb question though, what is TZ UK? confused

Thanks guys, I owe you all a beer should I get a chance smile

I'll go the private route, put it up for £750. Having had a look around at what prvious examples have sold for, and the condition they are in compared to mine, thats a fair place to start.

I really appreciate the guidance. Next up will the be thread asking for guidance on what to get for £3-£5k in Dubai smile

Thanks Nolar, I appreciate the time it took for that smile

I've now had 3 offers privately, from various sources, for between £600 to £700, so I'll go that route when the time comes. If it does come.

Getting less and less keen on parting with it now!
