Hello
I have a bit of a dilema, I am very near to the top of the list for a SS Daytona which I have always wanted but really like the Hublot big bang. I tried it on at Selfridges yesterday and absolutely love the look but have some reservations.

The chap in Selfridges said that although the Hublot was water resistant to 100m he would only ever recommend swimming with it. When I commented about snorkelling he said that it was a no no. I don't really want to start swapping watches when I do watersports. Also the case looks that it would mark quite easily so would it be suitable to wear daily?

Also like I said I have always wanted a Daytona and long term would be the better bet as it is a classic and will be handed down to my son.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the replies. It is going to have to be the Daytona as I don't want to have to worry about whether my watch is going to get buggered when I am at the coast.

It's just that the wait is killing me now I have been told I am very close to the top...

It's worth the wait for a SS Daytona. I remember getting the call from Mappin & Webb six years ago and the guy on the end of the phone just saying, " Your piece is in Sir, would you like to collect it today?", It took me fifteen miniutes to get over to Fenchurch Street and walked out a very happy man about thirty minutes later.

Sounds good to me but I have just been infornmed by the AD that Rolex are raising their costs next week by 6% which makes the pre-owned ones a bit more atractive!

If you like the Hublot, you really need to consider a used AP ROO

I tried one in Selfridges and really wanted to like it, but I just can't can't get on with the numbers. I think I am just going to have to wait until the Daytona comes in.
