Promoted: Free 30-day GAP policy for PHers with ALA

Hi Stu
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
That's great, thank you for buying the policy from us
The policy can be transferred to the new owner if you sell the car privately as long as they are eligible for the cover and you let us know within 14 days of the transfer of ownership - there is a small fee of £30.00 to do this.
I hope that helps and if you have any other questions please let me know!
Thanks,
Katie

Just a quick question, I had black box insurance with hastings from September till December (4 months) but then decided to cancel it and get insured with churchill with no black box. Would I have a hear no claims bonus in September or will I have to wait till December, there wasn't a single day that i wasn't insured as i insured with churchill and cancelled on the exact same day with Hastings.
Hi LorryJumper
Thanks for getting in touch.
I'm not too sure about this one as we don't offer standard motor insurance. The best thing i can suggest is to speak to the insurers involved and they should be able to give you the right information![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Sorry I couldn't be more help and hope you get it sorted.
Thanks,
Katie

Hi Guys
If I have been working abroad for a couple of years and have just come back to the UK does it mean I answer the car insurance question "How long have you been resident in the UK" as one day if I arrived back yesterday?
The online forms seem to just give the option of a date. So if I am for example, 56 years old, have owned the same house for the last 30 years and were born here, I have still been resident in the UK for 1 day given the above circumstances?
Many thanks
Berni

Hope some PHers can give you some guidance on this berni29, with us not offering car insurance I'm not really certain of the answer to this. It would be worth checking with the insurer in question if you're not sure, just to avoid invalidating any cover - or paying more than you need to if it affects premium!
It's only an educated guess so please don't hold me to this but if you've had a British passport and been classed as a British citizen while you've been away you'd think the answer would be still "from birth"![confused](/inc/images/confused.gif)
Hope you get the answer soon either way![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Thanks,
Katie

Hi SheffieldLX
Thank you for getting in touch.
I'm sorry about that - we will be able to get this sorted for you and apply the correct discount, we would just need you to give us a call so that we can do that over the phone. Some of the non-GAP policies are capped at 5% but for PH GAP insurance customers we can actually take off 12%![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
The office number is 01653 916280 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
Thanks,
Katie
