The road wasn't closed as far as i could tell, there wasn't much traffic, but there were cars and vans coming up and down there quite regularly. I think the weather has impeded the roadworks contractors intentions somewhat!
Will be nice to have that bridge to myself when they do start though, i may even bring a deck chair and my monopod out lol! biggrin

Heres a few recent snaps smile -

Ratcliffs are based at the junction of the B660 and the old A1 at Stilton - some interesting sights in there from time to time!

Did you see the Harrier wings being shifted on Monday morning last week? I saw 3 lots of 2 lorries with them on along with an escort for each group.

Hi Tony wavey

Spotted at 12.05 today, you looked busy as I cycled down Monach Road? Did you see the yellow Chimeara?

Good to know! I bet they can pull some big stuff on the big of that wrecker in particular! (STGO CAT 2 - can pull a load up to 80 tonnes IIRC!) What a beast cool

I missed the Harrier wings!... Would loved to have seen that convoy though, i love serious heavy haulage and you do get quite a few decent sized movements up that road! biggrin

13.03 today, had to head down Monach Road again.

Have you seen the sign to say Bushmead road is closed? It started at 3 days (2nd Feb) went to 6 days and now 28th Feb!! Saying that I did see two cars come from that direction, any idea?

Yeah i've seen the sign and the notice just before the bridge (Says on the notice they're going to resurface that entire stretch and sort out some drains IIRC) theres signs up by Graff Bridge on Duloe Rd too, looks like its going to be a fair sized old job!
The road is open at the moment, the council seem to be playing a game of silly buggers!...

Heres some recent pics smile -

This is the all new Merc Actros, so new its not even available to UK hauliers yet!

One of Stobarts brand new Reefers with the new Super League livery (ESL now sponsor the enitre tournament) one of only a hundred or so and i've already seen 4 from my spot! biggrin

From planes it moved onto houses today! -

Also good to see Hutchinsons (Serious heavy hauler!) tidy R620 V8 out on a job this afternoon also -

Sadly not, en-route to Southampton(?) docks to be shipped to the USA where what was our perfectly servicable fleet of Harriers will become a giant spares bin for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) who also fly the type.

One complete jet is/was worth £27m (engine £10m, airframe £17m), I think we sold all 82 aircraft, spare engines, the whole package of support equipment and test rigs for £230m. Do the maths for the aircraft alone (27x82) and you'll find that the USMC got a fantastic bargin courtesy of the UK taxpayer, not that it annoys me or anything!

Had just been picked up to go off elsewhere. The road was definetely closed up the back today! However, when i wandered down there earlier yesterday evening, it would appear that for all the heavy plant i saw down there early in the afternoon, they'd only patched the road up and replaced a manhole cover... scratchchin

Heres a few new snaps -

This was working on the road yesterday, an interesting Scannie 124L "Jack In The Box" Draw-Bar unit!

Was chuffed to bits to see this one. Taz Trans new beast, a top of the range R730! (730 BHP!)

Took a couple of truck snaps from the back of the car park at Sainsburys in Biggleswade yesterday afternoon whch i'm quite pleased with too -

Ta Andy, yeah those last few were taken from the top of the car park at Sainsburys in Biggleswade. Made a nice change to be at ground level with the rigs for a change! Was also good to get a few desirable trucks from some very tidy fleets as they slowed up for the roundabout there, although i did miss the versatility of snapping across both lanes from the bridge still though!...
