I my late Dad drank in Berko for God knows how many years (25 years maybe?!) ?
My Father in Law was marketing manager at Shaw and Kilburn and ran your dad in a Viva in 1969/70 before DTV, my mate Chris used to wash down his racing TVR at Arkley and he was on the way to have a drink with my mate Fred at Bourne End when he had a bit of an off in a Commodore at the old Bourne End esses. My mate Bob bought Thespian's ( not Lesbians) Orchard from him and there was a full size photo on the wall at Brian Jones' 70th Birthday Bash at Brands Hatch. Despite all of this our paths never crossed - I'm glad that you're looking after Baby Bertha and Old Nail

Oooo, I used to love that shop when I was younger! Always used to go in after school to look at all the new stuff they had in. Was amazed how much they fitted into such a small shop (your new location opposite Waitrose looks much bigger than the old premises).

I live in Tring now, but am still in Berko all the time. Will be sure to pop in next time I'm about to say hello!

Jas, you have a good reputation in your shop, keep it up! Speaking to the sister-in-law who also lives in Berko, she and her fellow Mums are quite enthused, though they didn't rate it so much prior to your take-over.

I had worked at hamlins toyshop in Aylesbury since i was 12, and left when i was 19, (the oldest saturday boy ever!!..lol

The owners of the aylesbury store decided to set the shop up in berko, i think when i was 15, and once they bought the shop i was moved over to there to help fit it out and get it decorated and stock filled. And i worked over there in the summer holidays. such a good expereince. I think they sold hamlins about 5 or 6 years later, and sadly they closed down the aylesbury store and that was that frown so many great memories from HAMLINS..

Good luck with the store!!

I work in Berko, above Costa Coffee. One of our directors and me used to frequent Hamlins for HotWheels! But the supply seemed to dry up a bit. I'll see if I can pop in next week for a quick chat and to see if you have any '09 Hotwheels stock - I don't expect a cuppa though smile

Noooo! Oh well, I might pop in anyway...

Me and the boss have found that very few places have '09 stuff. He's the addicted one, got well over a thousand of the things, and he's got me into collecting anything British or VW, but we have most the 08 stuff.
