During a private "fly-in" fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness, the chartered pilot and fishermen left a cooler and bait in the plane. Unfortunately for them a bear sniffed them out and attacked the plane.

after getting back and surveying the damage the pilot used his radio and had another pilot bring him:

2 new tyres,
3 cases of duct tape,
A supply of sheet plastic.

he then patched it together and flew home!!

Well it has always been said that duct tape is 'the force' it has a light side and a dark side and holds the universe together!

Epic bodge! I'm all for bodging most things, but bodging a plane? That takes balls.

If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct Tape

If it should move and it doesn't - WD40

I did notice that during the last series of coach trip (getmecoat) the driver had cuningly used white duct tape to patch up the back of the bus with no one noticing

Nah nothing important was damaged (as long as the rudder etc. still worked) so it will be fine. I've gone up in planes with a few holes in them, hell, I went up in a plane which didn't have a door.... And we had to push start it as well........It was the pilot who had the big cahones, he didn't have a parachute....

Surely for it to be the ultimate bodge cable ties would be involved smile

Awesome, I think I'd get the plane repaired and airbrushed to look like it was all duct taped after that!

How does one push start a plane? Surely it would be easier to anchor it to the ground and let the conveyor belt spin the wheels until the engine starts?

I am disappointed with the lack of cable ties in this thread.
Cable ties + Duct tape = fix anything.

Well, we had to push her along and round again whilst the pilot cranked the engine (also had to get her out of the taxi area because another plane was wanting to get past). Then when she caught, on went the brakes and we all jumped in... And away we go..

I fixed the front of my fibreglass car after an altercation with a sign post - and it even passed the MOT.

A plane I'd probably be a bit worried about it though!
