hehe

30c, 12knots SW monsoon wind blowing all day and an ice box full of cold Tiger Beer.

Have done Needles Fairway and the only plus is you dont need the ice to keep the beer cold wink

Whats that Ian,

Looks to have the shape of the "Driver" boats.

vette
Its a Maxum 2200 SR3 and has a 5L American V8 (260/270 bhp). Its good for just over 50mph (when the sea's flat enough) which on water is fast!

Great fun and very sociable as it can accomodate 9 if need be. If you're looking for maximum fun for your money, fantastic performance and want to share the enjoyment with friends then i'd recommend one.

I used my boat 3 times last year. THREE TIMES!

This year is looking worse. I may sell it if it continues to be unused....

The family are not really into it and the weather is not exactly tempting. Grrrr!

Before we had kids, my wife and I had a Fairline Targa 27. It was lovely, with twin 4.5L V8 Mercruisers on straight through pipes (although that bit is quite irrelevant to the story!). We kept it for 3 seasons and used it a maximum of 20 times during the whole time we owned her. At £1,000 / month for the mortgage and mooring + (a lot of) fuel + insurance + servicing ++++, it was ruinously expensive to run. I was delighted when we sold it!!

Flat chat at 44kts, she burned just under 1.5 gallons / mile at £1.00 / litre (2000 marine unleaded prices).

Wasn't a cheap boat to run by any means! However our quickest cross channel trip was Lymington river mouth - Bray Harbour in Alderney in 95 minutes.....

biggrin the new Vmax stealth boat wink

Its a 6 and a bit metre Powercat.

Very stable, very wide, twin 50hp Honda 4 strokes (massive overkill)

Holds a lot of people and kit, perfect for the river although it was designed for the sea really. Swim platform and ladder on the back.

A few minor mods coming biggrin
