Glorious weather in North Sheffield so far. Looks like a bit of high cloud over the Peak District though.

just received an update from a roaming reporter.... Weather is lovely (for t'norf) but traffic and parking is mad. People double parked down every road all the way down to at least Bamford from Lady Bower....

I'm very jealous.
I was up there a few weekend ago and had a great few days.
Probably the thing I missed most when I left Sheffield 3 years ago after living there for 24 years.
We need plenty of photos!

Unfortunately only the Spit turned up, and wasn't there for long, but I snapped a couple of phone pictures (not great quality, sorry!). We were standing right outside the old WM Airfield Control Tower which has just been restored, but not open to the public yet. Always seem to get a bit of grit in the eyes at these commemoration events!

Sorry, West Malling was turned off for us a while ago.

Hope you enjoyed the flypasts today, the crews are pretty happy with how it went! Unfortunately the geometry of the approach to the dams doesn't lend itself to 67wg/500kts... 300kts in 25wg is a lot better for you to be able to see us!

The boys will be on TV tonight too, BBC2 between 1900 and 2000 - tune on in! They should be doing a nice entrance into Scampton smile

Sky News got some great images of the Tonka's going through that I watched the news crew upload, BBC apparently had 7 onboard cameras (plus the Helicopter and 2 ground cameras so should have some great images too). I will upload some of my empty sky shots a little later.

Watched the Lancaster from near Eccles Pike as it was doing a flypast over Chapel En Le Frith in memory of two local members of the RAF who took part in the operation and were killed doing so.

From Buxton Advertiser Web Site
"Flight Lieutenant William Astell, D.F.C, of Combs, and Sergeant Jack Marriott D.F.M, of Chinley, were both members of the Royal Air Force 617 Squadron, and were killed when the squadron led the assault on the dams of the Ruhr Valley in Germany on May 16 and 17, 1943"

Lovely conditions and it did two and a half circuits of Chapel
Only problem an idiot leaving his camera at home!!

Yup, really enjoyed the flypasts thanks very much. Shame there weren't a few more!

Here are some pics from Pike Low - not great, but I'm sure LloydH's will be along soon to compensate...
