Canadian Lancaster to visit the UK
Discussion
Although it's a shame that a lot of people are complaining on twitter that the announcement will be made in the morning. People need to remember that there is alot of work going on at the flight not just for Vera's departure but for the other displays still to happen this year plus the LLA day that is happening Sunday, also the aircrew are still current frontline pilots for the vast majority of them.
I can see the BBMF wanting to keep it till the AM, but there will be a lot of disgruntled folk if they book time off work/school etc to see the 2 girls together one last time, especially over the cathedral, and it doesnt happen.
As for me, ive got the school run on Louth at 8.45am, then have to get a shift on over to CGY pretty dam quick to get a place on the mound. hoping we get a form up & flypast of the 'escort' (if there is one) over CGY instead of just flying straight off

But that's their choice to book time off. And it's not like they haven't had the last 6 weeks to see it. I don't see how seeing it one more time will make a difference except online in years to come when they can say I was there on the last time they were together. The thing is it's all rumours not from BBMF so who's fault is it if they don't fly over Lincoln cathedral tomorrow?

Weather and aircraft serviceability permitting, the Canadian Lancaster will depart RAF BBMF at RAF Coningsby at 1000 local time.
The planned route will be as follows - timings are approximate within a 5 minute window.
1000 - take off
1010 - RAF Cranwell
1015 - RAF Waddington
1020 - Lincoln Cathedral
1025 - RAF Scampton.
Personally I would love to see them together 1 more time, and over Lincoln Cathedral especially so, not for bragging rights, but to have seen it, a way of dinal reapect from a grateful supporter.
i have had a great 6 weeks following and seeing the two (sorry 3) Lancasters together, I doubt it will ever happen again. It has been a fitting tribute to all men of Bomber Command (lost or still with us) to see and hear them together, and everywhere I've been its not bee a raucous cheer as with jets but a respectful silence and applause.
i am so glad to all the organisers, BBMF and CWHM to have got this organised this year, I can't say thank you enough

That was a great you place you had, I don't know the area particularly well and just decided to have a drive over. Saw all the people on the dunes and decided to go & join them. Had a good view over the airfield but of course a bit far away while they were on the ground. Glad they just knocked Pontins down though
Think you may have been very close to me with that picture...had almost the same view :-)Did you hang around for the Vulcan flypast? It did a pass along Blackpools runway.

Very jealous of those that got to see it in the flesh.
May as well repost this photo that my old man took back from his Vulcan flying days too :-)
