HMS Queen Elizabeth
Discussion
In these pc, caring-sharing, everyone's a winner times, Dreadnought, Warspite, Repulse, Invincible etc are probably seen as a bit punchy.
I always find it slightly odd that the RN have never had an HMS Churchill. We could, in fact have a 'conspicuously whooped the Queen's enemies' class;
HMS Churchill
HMS Montgomery
HMS Thatcher
HMS Drake
HMS Wellington
HMS Nelson

Is that one fighty enough for you?
As a class, arguably the best fighting ships of WW1.

Is a 'fighty' name important?
Is HMS Glasgow, or Sheffield, or Duncan, a fighty name?

Now you're talking....
Blimey....
You chuck in a whimsy about a name, go away for a while and everybody thinks this is A Serious Proposition.

I always find it slightly odd that the RN have never had an HMS Churchill. We could, in fact have a 'conspicuously whooped the Queen's enemies' class;
HMS Churchill - (S-46) decommisioned 1991. Nuclear powered Fleet Submarine.
HMS Montgomery - probably too close to the SS Richard Montgomery, which might take a corner off Kent if it ever decides to explode.
HMS Thatcher
HMS Drake - already taken. HMNB Devonport
HMS Wellington - (U-65) launched 1934, she's still afloat on the Thames as HQS Wellington
HMS Nelson - already taken. A barracks that's part of HMNB Portsmouth
To be fair, if the RN was anything like the USN we'd already have an aircraft carrier called the HMS Margaret Hilda Thatcher. But then it'd probably have an air wing, too...I always find it slightly odd that the RN have never had an HMS Churchill. We could, in fact have a 'conspicuously whooped the Queen's enemies' class;

Whimsy implies humour, you see.
