That doesn't appear to have any flaps or ailerons or any other form of adjustable control surfaces?!
Look more closely, possibly with zoom.

There's a hinge line for an aileron visible in the starboard (further) wing, similarly in the horizontal extension at the top of the duct for the elevator. Rudder is seemingly in the fin just after the "MILLER" text.

If anyone is wondering about the slogan, the aircraft was apparently donated (presumably to the RAF, i.e. funded?) by the British community in Uruguay.

Looks like a flying saucer from some angles.

My apologies. It was posted on another forum I frequent several months ago. Apparently it’s fake.

Yup - the visor is usually only raised for supersonic flight, which would not happen over a city

Could they not have just put it up for the photo, or could it only be deployed above a specific airspeed?

Our Jag at the museum. Not a stunning picture but just looks cool in the autumn light on Saturday

Probably, but the lighting/contrast does look rather off.

It's also flying the wrong way down the Thames if it's on approach to LHR, they never took off that way and it would have caused carnage to ATC if it was real. Also suspect some of those buildings in the background weren't up before it retired.

Also, how would you take such a photo? wink Hang out the side of a helicopter over East London with your finger on the shutter, as a Concorde flies straight underneath you! Don’t think so.

While I'm not claiming the above pic is real, it is perfectly possible to take a decent photo through an aircraft canopy. This one for example was taken at Mach 1.6...they had to go that slowly so the Tornado could keep up for long enough to take a decent photo biggrin

Trickier to get an above shot I'll grant you but doable, there was a documentary in the '80's about the F-14 crew that took a photo of the cockpit of a Mig-28, although sadly the photographer was killed in a training incident shortly after.

A beautiful picture. What a machine.

The documentary you mention seems totally familiar. A bit like the docuseries on a prototype combat helicopter that was capable of mach one plus. Incredible.

They did various Red Arrow flypasts with the visor up: Scottish Parliament opening and the Queen's Golden Jubilee being the final two.

Wasn’t it just to get better visibility taxing and landing due to the angle of attack on approach they had to droop the snoot. Once airborne I doubt it matters.
