Just been for a quick stroll around. Parking restrictions are in place, temporary fencing on standby, flags are flying including over at Gosport, there's Welcome Home banners and even bunting on display.
The city is ready (not sure about the Dockyard!).

If you're a Facebook person then Portsmouth Evening News will be streaming HMS QE's arrival live from 6:30AM on their Facebook page.

T'was the night before homecoming
and all through the house
not a creature was stirring
not even a mouse helicopter.

Here’s a video I took of the helicopter flypast.

Great to see so many people out to see her arrival. Just a shame it was a bit overcast.

Thanks for the pics, chaps.

Of the various webcams and feeds the HMS Warrior one has been the most stable, and it's been manually operated to follow the carrier too.

Emergency call! Emergency call!

We need a remedial drill instructor to the dockyard at Portsmouth. Stat!

That's a large thing to fit through such a small hole.

Some good photos above and it all seemed to go well, I hate to say this but I genuinely thought it would look a whole lot bigger although it has ruined the view out of my office window. May change my opinion when I get onboard, always used to get lost on the old CVS!!

It does though leave me deeply impressed that we can still design and build things like this.
