Dunno. No markings that I can see, but I'm no uniform expert.

That's a large thing to fit through such a small hole.

That's what she said smile

On the marching front, it was ever thus...even in the ATC the local Sea Cadets minced more than marched.

Anyway,on the Beeb this morning they said she was Britain s biggest and most powerful warship, but surely without planes she just has a few guns, do not exactly a threat! Or am I totally wrong as usual smile

She's got a handful of heliclunks on deck already and there were some buzzing about in the air this morning, both security and display, but I don't know if they were from her inventory. The F-35B planes are on the way though and should be here in next year as they and their 120 aircrew are currently undergoing training in the USA. Just enough time to iron out any bugs in QE, I guess. She's not due to be fully operational for another 4 or 5 years yet.

Busy early work morning for me but managed to see a bit on the streaming cameras - thanks for links guys. As above, didn't look as big as I thought it would in the harbour, but still quite a large lump.

A couple of boats missing from pontoons at the bottom of the garden this morning so I guess some of my neighbour's with more time than me went for a closer look.

Might have a run down at the weekend, but my mum is staying over this weekend and doesn't like going on boats, so may have to wait till the next weekend - assuming it is still here.

Just watched all the Merlins take off on Sky News (and the RN live feed on FB).

Feel a bit sad now - the show is over.

The show is just beginning, on the news they were reporting the comments from the Russians about it being just a very large target , people should remember the fuss when a Russian aircraft carrier passed through the channel, a battle group has a large effect without firing a single weapon , Belize was under threat of attack from Guatemala, the UK launched buccaneer aircraft from an aircraft carrier at extreme range and just by flying noisily above the capital ,the word went round that the carrier group was off the coast, Guatemala pulled back from invading , sometimes size does matter. wink

Glass houses and all that, do they forget they deploy their carrier with their own AA/RAC ship for obvious reasons.

How much paint does she hold in the stores, I wonder?

In case they ever need to paint her in dazzle camouflage like they had in WW2

But the Guatemalans rattled their sabres again as soon as the carrier left. A transient deterrent at best. It took a permanently (Land) based half-squadron of RAF Harriers to see them off properly.

They say she has not yet been commissioned, so which flags is she flying at the bow and at the stern, and from other places please?
