11 C-47s on their way from the US to Normandy via Scotland

is anyone else enjoying 'plane savers' on youtube?
buffalo airways are doing a very speedy resto of a D-day veteran along with the help of a volunteers and the excellent ena technical college
mikey has managed to upload an episode every single day for the last 140 days and his hard working girlfriend has managed to paint and entire DC3 with a small paint roller and a 1/2 brush
its ace you tube viewing and its really interesting to see the 'nuts & bolts' of getting an utter wreak in a position of actually flying again

It's a closed group, I am awaiting joining approval.
N150D has now reached UK shores, having not long landed at Wick in Scotland.
That only leaves the Hap Arnold C-41 of the 15 yet to fly across the Atlantic. It didn't leave California until Saturday, and ran into bad weather in the northern states, and only departed Winnipeg in Canada about an hour or so ago and still has about 9-10 hours flying to get to Goose bay including a stop over, so not going to reach Goose till tomorrow. So, Greenland on Friday, Iceland on Saturday, so Scotland Sunday and Duxford on Monday with any luck, depending on weather.

Their trip to Solent yesterday was scrubbed due to weather (apologies for not posting it), they will attempt to re-schedule and if I hear when I'll post the revised details (if I remember).
There will be a D-Day air display at Solent Airport on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June, I doubt it will be a big air show, but could be fun anyway. Tickets can be purchased from here;

There are no details of what will be flying and static I'm afraid, so I don't know how good it will be. I'll be going, but I only live a few miles away.
