Idiot Tornado pilot

This is the thread you want - there are used to be some better pictures of the car on the thread, but I suspect the links have expired over the years:

Thanks!! My old man was based at Izki/Seeb in the early 80s so spent some good holidays out there. Even managed to blag a ride-along when he flew out to the border gun positions at Sarfayt and Harbrut. That gave me much respect for the desert pilots, we only flew in a Defender but the landing strips were tiny and some still with wreckage at the sides.....http://www.pprune.org/military-aircrew/81053-low-l...
But to find this on that thread suggests that story was only the tip of the iceberg....
and this is downright scary!
I hate threads like this because they always end up with awesome pictures posted (like above) and I get so pissed off because of such a stupid thing that stopped me joining the RAF. Even more so now because it was Jaguars which I wanted to fly, though they would have probably been out of service by the time I got to fly solo.
I won't post this video compilation of those Jaguars then....

I always wanted to be an AAC pilot but never got my act together in time and ended up a FOO instead. Still have yearnings to learn to fly.

I got my act together, I was fit enough, educated enough and motivated enough, then I go and fail the medical because I have scars on my lungs from 2 x pneumonia cases when I was a child.

pffft! 'Jag'boys.
Sorry, RAF insider joke.
It was those or the Tornado (I just wanted to go as fast as possible) and I preferred those for both the looks and the fact that they were single seaters so you didn't have to rely on anyone else looking after you.Sorry, RAF insider joke.
