Fined for opening plane emergency exit

Crazy idea I know but how about painkillers to kill the pain?
It is a crazy idea, it doesn't work for pressure differential problems. Most (good) parents don't like pumping drugs of any kind into their child if they are not going to work. Particularly when most people on the aeroplane will sympathise with the parents as they will have been through similar problems.
It is just the selfish idiots that are getting annoyed and who cares about them?!

Nope.
And THAT ^^^^ is what grips my st the most.
I understand the little monsters / monkeys may kick off and scream, but it the fking parents who sit there in oblivion ignoring it whilst and entire cabin of passengers swivels the heads, tuts, and stares daggers at them that really make me want to wrap the oxygen mask around their necks.
Parents. Please. Take care of screaming kids -
Paddy, I have to disagree with you there. In my experience most parents try and do something to calm said child, the problem is that you cannot just wave a magic wand. And THAT ^^^^ is what grips my st the most.

I had the scenario where my 3 yerar old was really excited to be going on a plane and was happy chatty etc, as soon as the doors closed and the engines fired up she got scared and started screaming etc. All you can really do is cajole, persuade, distract and bribe (chocolate). I had to do that whilst all the other passengers were clearly hating me.
In the end she calmed down and was fine for the rest of the flight.
A number of passengers came up to us to check she was OK, but who caused the most compleints on the flight? The 3 childless blokes in their 30's who were pissed, abusive foul of mouth and who then started chucking up.
Who would I rather sit with - give me a kid rather than a tosser every time.
Most kids will calm down eventually unless they are in pain. Pain killers are not instant in effect, and in my daughters case hardly worked at all as she had lots of pain killers when she was born so the efficacy is diminished.

I've said this to my girlfriend before. Would happily pay a fiver to scratch that itch of curiosity (without actually risking permanent flight phobia by being in a plane crash)
Its not that exciting so I'd suggest you save your fiver for a drink, out of which you'd get more satisfaction. Certainly, don't expect the so called 'British stiff upper lip' to be preserved for long when confronted by an emergency de-plane, personally I found everyone's attitude quite disgusting when we had to do it.andrewrob said:
Just a shame your parents didn't make the same choice.
Oh an by the sounds of it, "your wife who loves kids" will probably want some at some point just not now. So prepare yourself for single life unless you change your attitude.
And how do you come to that conclusion Einstien? Oh an by the sounds of it, "your wife who loves kids" will probably want some at some point just not now. So prepare yourself for single life unless you change your attitude.
You don't know how long we have been together, or if in fact my Wife is past having kids now.
It's the parents attitude that no one can hear the brats, that's annoying.
I don't have an attitude, I don't bother anyone.
Fact. There is no reason why anyone should have to take a screaming baby on an airplane.
Wait untill they are old enough to be social, or you can reason with the littel sts.
My parents never took a holiday abroad untill I was in my teens.
We didn't have one of those mom wagons with a boot full of toys, and screens in the back of the headrests either. Just a normal car. I was alowed to take a matchbox car, or one of those "I Spy" books.
Seems kids today come with accessories too. And what's with the "Baby on Board stickers? Is that a way of saying "I've done it"?

That's not fact at all. IMO the way you refer to children pretty much sums up your attitude, which strike me as being selfish and intolerant.Wait untill they are old enough to be social, or you can reason with the littel sts.

Are you really implying that people with kids under 13 shouldn't go on holiday abroad because you didn't get to go abroad when you were a kid? maybe if they had taken you abroad you would have a better perspective on things We didn't have one of those mom wagons with a boot full of toys, and screens in the back of the headrests either. Not sure how old you are, but MPV's probably weren't around when you were a kid. Again, why should your parents decisions have any bearing on what others should do?

Does that really bother you? Again a sense of perspective may help you.mickrick said:

I guess there's always adoption though eh?
I don't like kids. So I'm imature, selfish and intollerant. Mmm. O.K. then.
If my parents had taken me abroad as a kid it would have given me a better perspective. Mm.. eh?
Actually becuase I chose not to have kids, I've spent most of my adult life travelling around the globe. So I probably do have a pretty good perspective.
As for adoption, if you want kids why not? They dump unwanted children in a basket at the end of the street in India. The orphanages can't cope with them all.
So basically all you people who didn't pull out, think it's O.K. to let your kiddies annoy the rest of us.
O.K. then.
