I know! It's about Duct Tape, so surely 'Homes, Gardens & DIY' would have been more apt?

I was thinking the Ford forum or Body repair? The thing about the Mondeo's is too true! hehe

Quick question - why does the plane have what appears to be lead weights attached to the rear section of the top of the wings..??

I assume they were temporary attachmants to stop the ailerons thrashing about in the wind. When the ailerons move, the control column in the cockip swings from side to side.

Could they not just attatch a bracket to the fixed part of the wing to stop moving around as opposed to drilling a whole and lugging lead weights around with them everywhere they go..??

Or indeed put a control lock on the control column.

I'm only guessing why they did this. Perhaps there wis another explanation.

They're not lead. Just standard gust locks that fit between the flaps and ailerons. Usually made of wood with a bit of rubber to stop damaging the paintwork.

NEVER forget to remove gust locks.

Sad but salutory.

Superb, would take balls of steel to get back in it and trust it though
Nah nothing important was damaged (as long as the rudder etc. still worked) so it will be fine. I've gone up in planes with a few holes in them, hell, I went up in a plane which didn't have a door.... And we had to push start it as well........It was the pilot who had the big cahones, he didn't have a parachute....
How do you push start a plane?

I love the way the thread switched from "I taped up my Mondeo" to tech analysis of the aircraft photo. I can see when it was moved..

Isn't a Super Cub made of tape anyway? wink
