Not embeddable here, but an amazingly cool picture indeed: an interactive EE Lightning cockpit with mouseover info: https://www.haraldjoergens.com/panoramas/lightning...
(If you haven't seen it before, it's definitely worth clicking.)

Thanks againThis aircraft is one the featured in the famous (and much syndicated) photograph of the pilot’s ejection watched by a tractor driver (see below). According to some sources, including the tractor driver who appears in the picture, the photographer was paid £1,000 (equal to £18,607 at 2012 prices) by The "Daily Mirror" for the photograph.

IIRC That photo was taken a few miles down the road from where i'm sitting right now
Wasn't it at Hatfield? If so it wasn't far from my uni campus from 2005. Pilot, Ray Battle, and WSO, Ken Boone, were hit while flying a mission over Tchepone, Laos. The pilot lost control of his Phantom, so he told the WSO to eject. After the WSO ejected, that balanced out the aircraft and the pilot was able to regain control and landed at Ubon Air Base in Thailand. The runway was foamed and the aircraft slid off the runway and came to a stop in a massive cloud of dust and dirt. The Pilot survived uninjured and the WSO, Ken Boone, was rescued.
