I imagine in that part of the world you fly until you reach a 'safe' area and descend in that? No point doing a normal 100mile+ descent through bandit country.

I'm hopeless at posting screen shots but there's an RAF C-17a Globemaster doing "bumps and runs" at Gatwick as we speak!

He's flown up from Guernsey, apparently.

He keep appearing over my house!!

At least it's nice to hear a bit of aircraft noise again!!!

It had landed & taxied in 5 mins ago, now it must have shut down as it has disappeared off screen.
PS. It was 'circuits & bumps' back in my day.

It actually landed here in Guernsey today. My house is about half a mile from the airport & it flew over my garden when departing- what a noise & sight!

I was following it online earlier; Guernsey to Gatwick, touched down, took off again, then went round clockwise, and did the same thing again. I think it had done 5 passes before I got bored!

Is there some sort of military exercise taking place over Scotland tonight?

We had a Chinook fly over earlier this evening which is unusual over Southern Scotland.

Then there’s two RAF aircraft circling over the Scotland/England border right now! This seems to be over RAF Spadeadam.

Very unusual to see this sort of thing happening here.

Also earlier this evening they were circling over HMNB Clyde.

One of these flew over my house at 4.16 this morning!

I managed to grab a quick screenshot of Flightradar24 then it just vanished off the app..

What a noise... but could have left it a bit later on in the day!

I’m pretty sure if someone can afford to fly a helicopter around to pick up a sandwich they will give precisely not one iota about the £250 fine.

Besides if he is required to do it for currency for example who’s to say it’s a none essential bit of travel.

One of my wife’s friends flys his R44 to work most days.
