The other day a Boeing C32B came over Scotland, it always surprises me the number of specialists aircraft the Americans have.

That RVL ordinance survey aircraft is flown by a PH’er who may better be known for flying in warmer climates...
Do they post on this thread? Say hello then

NOAA publish their flypros on their site here: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/recon.php further digging on the site brings up their ops manual and shows what patterns they will fly in or around a hurricane. Greendubber said:
Saw 'Kermit' one of the NOAA hurricane hunters flying right into the thick of it last night, must be amazing and equally as terrifying onboard that thing.
I mentioned that at work, but it was pointed out to me the wind is consistent and of course you gradually build up through the wind speed it’s not instant. However turbulence will be strong. We watched a video of them flying and they had a separate throttle man. They say it’s fairly boring. http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/tcfaq/H3.html
