A tad brave of that Ryanair to continue straight towards AF1 at 40k ft.

I can imagine ATC. "Ryanair 6432, Do not even THINK of changing altitude..."

I heard another loud aircraft overhead and it was a E4B Nightwatch, add in a Chinook and some Apaches it’s been a busy evening in mid Suffolk!

AF1 has taken an odd route to Newquay - looped up north of Manchester, and currently off the IoW... why do that? Edited to add their 757 is doing loops of Newquay too, is something going on at the airport?

Is this the equivalent of the 'tourist taxi' - taken round the houses for a few more £££

You could. I watched it on ADSB from take-off just before 10.00pm.

No bravery and it couldn’t change level without explicit instruction anyway. AF1 when en route is just treated like every other aircraft in the sky for separation purposes.

4 Agusta A109s out of Biggin Hill look to be heading to Cornwall, plus a 5th which looks to have come out of Oxford. Wonder which dignitaries are on board?

They are always up and about, but I suspect a lot of the usual training activity (like this) is being done over Cornwall this week rather than the usual places (North Sea) as a bit of a show of strength etc.

Of the several re-fuelling A330s we have, they have sent the one Boris has painted in Union Jack colours for example. Probably not a coincidence :-)
