Please say I'm not the only one looking at Hannants and other model sites, pondering the purchase of a Blackhawk and doing some modifications.

"In addition to the noise-reducing modifications, the general shape of what was left of the craft
the harsh angles and flat surfaces more common to stealth jets-was further evidence it was a modified variant of the Blackhawk"

"There are probably people in the Pentagon tonight who are very concerned that pieces of the helicopter
may be, even now,on their way to China.
Because we know that China is trying to make stealth aircraft,
The Chinese military is known to have a close relationship with the Pakistani military"

There's a few more photos of the helicopter part in the below link from Reuters. However the story does also contain some fairly graphic images of dead people so be warned.

The one showing the body with the child's water pistol is particularly thought provoking.

When I first read the story on this op my initial thoughts were "how the hell did they get so close without raising suspicion". I guess this answers that question. Good to see there's still secret stuff being built, makes you wonder what else is out there.

US is now pressing Pakistan to return the parts.
China is all over it.

I just think it's great that these things exist!

I thought that too....how the hell do you fly four helicopters that deep into Pakistan and then have them near a major Army base for 40 minutes without the Pakistani's noticing them ?!?! When Obama was flown into London on a Blackhawk from Stanstead airport last year you could hear thing thing coming a fair way away (we live close enough to Regents Park that it was very low when it went over our house).

It's good that China is getting involved, when they clone it we can buy them for half the price of the US versions, plus the MOD can just order them online from Hong Kong as and when they are needed.

Yes, to think he could have shot one of those Navy Seals with whatever was in that pistol. Liquid AIDS, or liquid nuclear bomb?

"What's new here is this was operational use," says Bill Sweetman, editor of Aviation Week. "We really haven't seen stealth helicopters used in this way before.

Is that not the point of Stealth smile - if the helicopter had not crashed we would not have known about it this time

My god if that things classed as "stealthy" then even our Typhoons must be virtually invisible.

That picture is just speculation from someone on another forum. It didn't come from any manufacturer or other reliable source.
