While looking for that trace, I found this - https://www.flightradar24.com/VDA4474/2869b3d9 - a rather larger (partial) one, from a rather larger aeroplane, and over Edinburgh this time.Wonder if the pilot on your one is ex-RAF - the, er, drawing, is directly over RAF Lossiemouth

Working in York for a few weeks covering another site, just heard something massive fly over, any thing interesting in the area? Couldn't get outside in time to have a look and don't have the app, just find this thread interesting
Not massive, but a Eurofighter has been flying around the York area for at least half an hour. They can be very loud from what I remember of a display at Biggin Hill.Decided to follow a low flying helicopter that woke me up last night.
No details but presume it must be coastguard's AW189. . It took off from prestwick, Flew down to the lake district, landed near blackmoss pot, flew to east kilbride presumably for a drop off and then back to preswick.
So presuming it was a recovery or a training exercise. Are they're no closer coast guard helo's than prestwick? its not a huge distance but I thought there would of been something nearer the lake district.

I soon worked it out but couldn’t clearly find what plane/chopper it was. How does someone hide the details? And is M-ATTS almost like a private reg number?
The M prefix means it’s registered in the Isle of Man I think. I would guess you can choose the rest of the reg to suit your wishes. I’ve seen one with M-YTOY on the tail. Jezzerh said:

Correct - it is indeed Isle of Man registered. I've seen M-USIC and M-AGIC doing the rounds. I seem to remember M-ONEY or a variation on it at some point. It used to be the case with GB registrations too, may still be the case. Colin Chapman of Lotus had G-PRIX on his plane, several commercial planes (e.g. Virgin) have / had 'personal' registrations.
JCB have a number of aircraft with M-JCBA, M-JCBB, etc. Lord Bamford currently on his commute from the Cotswolds to Uttoxeter in M-JCBA, a Sikorsky S-76-C.

You can root about on here for IoM aircraft ownership. Most of them seem to be owned by companies that give no indication of the "real" owner and who only seem to have one assett - the aircraft! https://ardis.iomaircraftregistry.com/register/sea...
