Taken just down the road from the Woodford factory. Don't think the skills or the will exists to do this again.

Best outcome would be VTTS donating as much of '558 as possible and all their spares to the other Vulcan projects ( 655 and 426 in particular as the only other live ones) when they wind up VTTS, as will surely happen at some point before too long.
I think the 426 team provided some of their zero houred engines to VTTS for the 558 engine pool at some point in the past. Would be nice to give them back to them to keep 426 running. They'd need to clean the bits of plasticised silica gel off of the first stage compressor blades, obviously ...ecsrobin said:

If comes to it and they have to try and move it, then I think it should be broken for spares and those parts sent to the trusts looking after the other two that can do ground runs. (if that's even allowed)
Not ideal, but the money spent on it would live on in some capacity...
This I would think is the best and most likely option however I don’t see VTTS donating parts more selling parts. Not ideal, but the money spent on it would live on in some capacity...
There’s a small aviation museum in Doncaster. They already have a Vulcan nose but it would be nice if they could have 558’s too, the tail section would make a decent exhibit as well. The usable spares could go to the other live Vulcans and the rest scrapped to pay whatever it is vtts owe Peel. There might even be a market for people to pay for parts. Particularly those who have their name on the aircraft.
Whilst it shouldn’t be forgotten just how well vtts did getting 558 back in the sky and displaying again it’s skis an absolute tragedy the way it’s ending.

It’s not so much the cost of the hangar but the business case for it as an attraction. A Vulcan and a Canberra in a draughty hangar is hardly going to set the world on fire, is it. Maybe if the hangar contained something else as a successful business with the Vulcan as a USP, you could do something.
I went to a paintball/laser tag venue (not out of choice, it was a work "team building" thing!) that had various old military aircraft and vehicles as part of the scenarios. Something like this, or an escape room type thing maybe ?Would be a pretty undignified end to 558 though - I imagine many would prefer that it simply be scrapped and any useful parts donated to the other preserved aircraft as above.

It was always going to end this way. It’s USP was being the only airworthy aircraft now it’s just one of 19 surviving aircraft of which 4 are the blackbuck aircraft so have more history. There’s over 40 aviation museums in the UK, remove those dedicated to helicopters or specialist ones like BBMF then that’s 1 Vulcan for every other museum (if they were all located at museums) which is more than there are static spitfires! I just remembered though that 655 is a 301 engine Vulcan, so guessing any of the VTTS engines would only suit 426.

I suspect it will be chopped up in situ. Pretty sure people warned them not to end up at DSA but ignored those who said that.
Whilst I get those who funded the aircraft to get to flight or to continue flying those who have funded the aircraft but once it was parked up their money has been wasted and they have been blind to what was going on.
I've long thought this too, can't see any other viable option other than a one off transit flight and we all know that is incredibly unlikely. I think they could possibly get it there in one piece with the right kind of willingness.
We are all sat with baited breath, waiting for details. It would not be a normal road movement though...

I hope you post is a joke, given your occupation?
Are we talking about getting it in one piece to South Yorkshire air museum? It’s definitely impossible to do that in one piece. The museum is down in a residential area quite close to the Doncaster dome from what I remember.
The “right kind of willingness” would involve removing all road furniture from half of the Doncaster area and probably knocking down a few roadside buildings.
