Remember the old days of pinning up the navigators seat in a Canberra PR9, can't remember whether it was one handful of pins or two offhand, but certainly remember the procedure for working your way "backwards" to pin it up whilst kneeling on the seatpan didn't like that very much to be honest.
Wyton ?The Telegraph now have the same name as this thread.
RIP to both of those killed this year. It's horrendously sad, the reds haven't suffered any fatalities for years and now they've had 2 in 3 months!!
I wish the MSM would stop with the doom and gloom "end of the team" type rubbish, the last thing our idiot politicians need is the media giving them idea's.
RIP guys, you entertained and inspired wherever you went.

I though the "jump up and down" smiley was a bit inappropriate at the time http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/defence/887...

It was being reported that he wasn't dead as was previoussly reported. Bearing in mind that that publication was the only one at the time to say he had died. I though that was a great reason to be happy.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, what is the view like on that high horse?

Pupp,
Well on a tonka, no. But it's just extra safety. The seat pan pin would be physically in the way of you pull the black and yellow handle between your legs but would you want to take that chance?
Then there's the canopy mdc pins, and canopy jettison pin, plus the cross drive shaft etc.
On a harrier though, you could have it in safe for maintenance (all pins fitted) or safe for parking, seat pan pin not fitted but seat handle in safe.
Yeah ^^^ had the brief on induction at the ex JUMP line, thought it was a pretty dated safety system compared to others TBH.Well on a tonka, no. But it's just extra safety.
