Extreme distress?

A phrase only used by people who've never actually been in extreme distress.

Tell anyone ex-Forces or ex-emergency services that and they'll piss 'emselves laughing.
Tell anyone who is or has been a counsellor and they'll shake their heads.

Or someone desperate for work and has had to work in telesales.

My suggestion is that Mr. Smith should pour molten wax into his ears.

We should not pander to absolute jelly heads like this fool. I hope they make the Vulcan airworthy again and the 1st target should be this muppets house.

There was a similar issue in Manchester city centre not long ago. Night & Day cafe which opened in 1991 and holds live music events and club nights etc was served with a noise abatement notice in 2021. A resident moved into the flat adjacent during lockdown and then complained when it opened back up and of course, started playing music. The flats were built in 2000 with the council planning knowing full well there is a nightclub right next to it.

The council then proceeds to spend £60,000 in legal and other fees over a 3 year period to investigate this complant.

Information released by the council under a freedom of information request shows £33,500 was spent on external legal services in the case.

A total of £29,525 used to pay for acoustic testing for the court.

Council licensing officers spent 223 hours on the case, and the internal legal team spent about 263.9 hours working on it.

The cost of their time was put at £26,099.03.

All from 1 complaint. And the resident has since moved out.

Indeed.

We had a much loved sandwich/breakfast cafe in town. Family run for 20 years. A new resident decided to complain about the smell, so after lots of fighting the owners just threw the towel in. Again, that resident moved on. People like this need to complain, it’s the total lack of important things missing in their lives.

Visited East Midlands Aeropark today, where sadly their Vulcan no longer flies - but very impressive to see up close.
