It looks like the Chinese will be launching the first module in their Space Station programme within the next few weeks.

Soon when we say "Space Station Spotting" we will have to specify "Which One"?

How long before the ISS crew will be "popping out for a Chinese"?

"Houston this is ISS, we have to go EVA again, we forgot the Prawn Balls"

If they get the trajectory right they could fire them from one airlock to the other with a rubber band.

Hmm

they'd best be careful with that

be a bugger if they crashed the one station getting prawn balls to the other

While you lot are joking I fear the Chinese will practically own Earth orbit in 50 years time. They are the only people left on the planet with the money and attitude to actually do anything in space on any significant scale...

I'd say 20 years.

It's just a question of when they run out of money and enthusiasm like we did.

How far will they get?

Earth orbit?
Lunar orbit?
Moon landing?
Mars landing?

'Place bets now!'

We just need another 'Cold War' scenario, things'll soon pick up again...

True enough. Good job China is a long way away and we don't have anything they want.

Meantime I'm pondering all the fired prawn balls that miss the airlock, and so carry on orbiting. Eventually they will form the new 'Prawn Ball Layer'. And would it lead to a Dim Sun?
