Curious ... I wonder if this is connected with, or in addition to, "The People's Mosquito" project?

Unlikely IMHO, as the 'People's Mosquito' project don't have any money, which is why they couldn't buy this project ages ago. This is Glyn Powell's own restoration project that has been up for sale for a while now and has disappeared of the Platinum Fighters website. Shame a real Aussie made a/c won't be kept in Aus, but, hey ho, great to know it will be coming here. Someone has deep pockets....!!!!!!http://www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk/

Given that the Biggin Hill team will be starting from a much more advanced state, in that they actually have a partially constructed project and a siginificant cache of parts, without a doubt that aircraft will fly in the UK a long time before any hope of the People's Mosquito project coming to fruition.......so can they sustain funding for a 2nd UK Mosquito once joe public become aware of that...?

Well done BHHH, great news.
Actually, rumours have been circulating that BHHH haven't bought the Glyn Powell project, but a different one, and that the Glyn Powell project has been bought by another UK group......and if true, then if, and that's a big if, the Peoples Mosquito project ever did come to fruition, with or without VTTS help, it would be the 3rd Mossie airworthy Mossie in the UK...!!Anyway, I don't think VTTS will get involved, they have a static Vulcan to look after as well as an airworthy Meteor now to look after.

A Meteor? I must have missed that news.RoverP6B said:
Oh blimey... Meteor To The Sky now
Given it's already in an airworthy condition.....all they need to do is find a pilot experienced enough to fly it.(hope they've got enough spare Derwent's to allow for FOD damage )

and if that's the third Mossie project to hit the UK market then there's just no way it's happening. More likely that my old friend RS712 will be repatriated and restored (he says in hope).
I can't ever see the PM's 'project' happening whoever is behind it, as they don't have an parts stock for the all important metal components of a Mossie. All they have is a burnt ID plate!!There aren't enough parts to go around to supply the 2/3 more advanced projects as it is.
Sadly, I don't ever see '712 flying again. It won't in Kermit's ownership at least IMHO, as it's quite a way down the list of his projects, despite him saying it will get done, and he isn't getting any younger after all, and it's now been grounded for almost 25 years since it last flew!!
If he was serious about getting it back in the air, he would do something about it now while there is the current expertise out in NZ (or even up in Canada) to do the necessary remedial work on '712.

Is it the former Classic Aircraft T7?
Yes....marked as now sold on Classic Flight's website (NF.11 is marked as sale pending - and there was initially the rumour that it was the NF.11 that VTTS had bought, but the link with Finningley of the T.7 and the fact it's marked as sold seems to indicate it's the T.7 not the NF.11 that is going to VTTS)Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
