had a few tohatsu 2 stinkers for tender work that have all been epic but always run sterndrive boats in the past.possibly now looking for a 150hp o/b and have 3 on the shortlist, e tec, optimax, and new 150 mercury 4 stroke. anyone able to offer any impartial advice from ownwership expirience? all the net stuff is heavily biased american bks. should add boat is a 21 ft sports cuddy job to be used mainly for watersports and a bit of cruising stuff. thought the v6 of the optimax and e-tec may help the towing side of things. ruled out yamaha on problems i have heard/seen and suzuki from weight and corrosion.

i saw a yamaha that had snapped its saddle mount and spoke to a marine mech who said it wasnt the first??
