Post Amazingly Cool Pictures Of Tanks!
Discussion
I know, I know. Cries of "rip off" will come forward but there isn't a tank thread going lately and BPT seems like the place to put this thread.
I'll start with the T34 tank. This pic is a 34-85 one.
The T34 was the Sherman of the Russians but with more firepower and much better. The Germans designed the Panther tank to combat the T34 but did the Sherman have a German counterpart built to fight it?

Shame it was too big for the failing German infrastucture.
It was also too big and heavy for most of the medieval stone built bridges of the Western Front. It was also a tank destroyer (self-propelled antitank gun) rather than a tank as it's turret could not rotate, so it had to be manoeuvred into position to fire on a target, so was used as a stationary gun platform positioned to ambush Allied tanks. It would be too slow and ungainly to take part in any tank battles. The Germans built 2 prototypes but the Russians captured both. But even then the Germans had plans for an even bigger tank!

The Chally 2
My uncle knows a guy who tested the Challenger 2. It was unique because the barrel was smooth if I can remember. The guy built a model of his tank and took it exhibitions where tank experts would come and say "You do know that Challengers didn't have smooth barrels?" When the guy would say "My tank did". my uncle also has a ringtone of a Chally starting up taken from behind the tank. He also has a picture of him at Bovingtonl. There, boast over!
