My first experience of a Maccys was in Brighton, on North Street IIRC, which eventually became a BK, with Maccys moving to Western Road next door to the Virgin Megastore. It was a kids party and I had a cheeseburger meal, then there was a visit from Ronald McDonald, a Yewtree candidate if ever there was one.
Wimpy was down by the Old Steine, where it stayed until relatively recently.
But you can't beat the West Street grot palaces serving meat of dubious origin.
I remember too much about Brighton's fast food joints.

Always interesting to see where they open their first restaurants but Woolwich isn't as bizarre as KFC opening its first UK place in Preston!!
First time I went to McDonald's was in 1986 when they opened one where I lived which was one of the first three drive thru restaurants in the UK
