Following on from the "How long have you missed out" thread what foods are there that you can't bring yourself to eat? I'm not talking about 'exotic' (to us) things like witchetty grubs but more ordinary food which you just can't bring yourself to even try?

For me it's beetroot, I just can't bring myself to try - made even more weird by the fact that I do like beetroot crisps

Brussells or any form of offal.

Not a fish lover either, the smell turns my stomach.

Tripe. Although I'm not 100% sure I've ever actually been offered it

My grandparents lived right in the countryside, most exotic thing in their world was an apple

Lunch would often be tongue or some other grim part

I think the forced eating there made me a fussy eater!

Bananas. Despite fully appreciating their health benefits, a childhood of being force fed them has done it for me. It's the slimy texture...

It's a Rambutan. Peel the skin off and it tastes like lychee. They're lovely.

I'd not be keen to try brains, lungs or heart but probably would if they were served up in a good way. Otherwise I'll eat just about anything.

Mushrooms - I can only describe them as having the same texture as I imagine I slug has!

Tomatoes - Just slimy and taste horrible!

Bananas - Ever since I vomited after eating a couple of bananas a few years ago I can’t stand them. Even the smell of them makes me heave!
