You can't make a lovely apple crumble they all taste rank, I find removing the apple component makes the world of difference

Don't forget the honey or the cinammon, my mum always told me.

And I haven't.

I have forgotten the rest of the recipe though irked

Dead simple.
Soak the apples in a little watered down sweet sherry with some raisins and cinnamon.
Mix up some margerine, flour, baking soda and vanila essence, crumble it like te first bit of biscuit making.

Put one a top the other and bake.

Stew the apples with tons of sugar then chuck some muesli on top mixed with a wee bit of cinamon and bake in the over to crisp the muesli - not ideal but its quick and tasty.

Helps though if the apple is on the bottom and the crumble on top wink

8oz plain flour
3oz butter

Mix with your fingers until nicely mixed....

Add 4oz brown sugar

Cut up apples etc etc etc etc and place in bottom of glass bowl

Place crumble on top and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Cook for 35 mins @180 degrees.

Take out, serve a decent amount in a bowl, cold custard on top

I use Pure it's nice - it's not very chav at all.

And it tastes great on Fish and Chips.

For a nice crunchy topping I use half flour and half porridge oats - I think it's a Delia recipe I have somewhere. Mmmmmmmmm apple pie and custard, oooh

My hands are too hot, so I end up with sugary pastry rather than crumble.

I use porridge oats mixed with half the amount of demerera sugar and moistned with melted butter so it sticks. It's nicer than crumble toolick
