You can still get gypsy tarts in Kent, in a lot of bakers.

I find them far too sweet though.

yeah the Plaxtol bakery (sevenoaks) was a personal favourite however being out in Hampshire you can't find them as far as I've tried.

Does anyone remember curry flavour wotsits? They were available for a very short while in the 80's and were bloody lovely, I can barely find a mention of them online though.

I found those in the Morrisons in Tunbridge Wells when I was last down there... Thought exactly the same as you, although my Mum makes them still and they're lovely!
