They've just started the 'made for you' in certain McDonalds over here and I'm not so sure.
You order and pay at the till, are given a ticket with your number on it and then stand five feet away from the till with everyone else looking up at a screen waiting for your number to be displayed.
Not my cup of McFlurry, anyway.
Because they are running scared of the rise of the likes of Five Guys who similarly make you wait for your burger but people are prepared to pay loads of money for this. You order and pay at the till, are given a ticket with your number on it and then stand five feet away from the till with everyone else looking up at a screen waiting for your number to be displayed.

Has anyone else noticed just how much worse the quality of McDonald's food is over night? It's often night and day different, considerably worse than the usual mediocre product served during the day. I'm sure they just let the quality control go slack because they think they're only going to be feeding pissed up clubbers going home in a taxi. I work nights and have noticed the difference in terms of quality.
Though I did have a very tasty KFC at work tonight, which is a rare treat.

Had one last night - delicious, a strong 9/10.
It was accompanied by 5 Chicken Selects, a Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap, 9 Chicken Nuggets and a pack of Cheese Bites.
I was hungry.
Jesus Christ that's a lot of food! I wouldn't have been able to drive home after that! It was accompanied by 5 Chicken Selects, a Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap, 9 Chicken Nuggets and a pack of Cheese Bites.
I was hungry.
I was secretly hoping the Mrs didn't finish her cheeseburger so I could have a nibble of that also however she was greedy and/or selfish and ate it all.

Another disappointed grand eaten here yesterday. I'm giving up on anything over £1 at McDonald's. It's always so disappointing otherwise!
If you like the chicken legend pattie, have the delis for £1.99 Thursday's to Sunday's. I always have them, essentially a legend sandwich but with different fillings, and half the price. I'm always in there on those days, usually being greedy with 2 sandwiches at a time .
Only other things I have from McDonald's are double cheeseburgers and drinks. Don't go for any other burgers.

I know McDonald's have been trying to improve their craft over the past few years but it sounds like they're still struggling with the elusive 'decent burger'. Burger King manage it, Wimpy managed it (I've not eaten there for years). Wendy's manage it etc etc.
The promotional burgers at McDonalds sell very well and I guess it must be down to personal taste that you think they struggle. Burger King certainly haven't found the right products which is why they're closing restaurants rather than opening 30+ new sites per year like McDonalds.Burger King has the right product, but the UK market isn't right for it. The typical UK buyer seems to favour price over quality, hence they're happy to shovel the tripe McDonald's serves down their necks. Evidenced in many a fine restaurant struggling to stay open whilst McDonald's grind on and on.

I get that you don't like McDonalds produce but it's a fact that the raw ingredients are better quality than BK. Yes McDonalds are cheaper too and have managed to keep prices lo why volume buying, it's a balance of quality and price and in my opinion BK haven't got either correct. Nandos are more expensive and they don't seem to be struggling, it's a difficult market out there and restaurants like Prezzo and Zizzi etc are going to find it hard to stop their huge discount vouchers after providing them for so long during the recession.Burger King burgers, especially the whopper are far superior to anything McDonald's sells. The chips however are grim, King Fries were brilliant back in the day though.
I do think at 8 quid for a meal it's too much for what it is, there are better options out for that money, it's why maccy's wins through.
Don't really like the special burgers they do though, and from the comments so far, don't think I'll be rushing for a Grand!
