Lee Kum sauces are excellent, too.
I especially like their hoi sin sauce (I use it for a stir fry chicken glazed in hoi sin with cashews) & dark soy.
Their soy are far better than the overly salty Kikkoman ones imo.

Got a delivery from Starrymart yesterday.....

That’s eight new ones to try including two that could be the ultimate in pot noodle cuisine or a vey expensive bowl of cats vomit!! Either way it’ll raise a few eyebrows come noodle time in the workshop next week.........

Will definitely be on my next order as I can’t fault their service and prices compared to Amazon Prime thumbup

yup. the lee kum chili oil is great. buy it for yourself, no need to pay extra for chili oil at your takeaway. just be careful not to put too much on your food. as much as i love hot food that stuff can mess me up if i put on too much. the more natural/less processed the chili the more my bowels can handle it.

I found a problem with having to wait for the noodles to become fully soft along with the dehydrated ingredients resulted in lukewarm noodles fifteen or twenty minutes after adding the hot water . Eating any sooner they were just crunchy.
I got around this by tipping the noodles into a preheated half litre thermos and leaving to stand for 3 or 4 hours before eating. Results is all liquid fully absorbed flavours fully developed no Crunchie bits and still hot!

Same here, 5 mins max. Straight in with boiling water and cover. Too hot to eat straight away then!!

But my “workshop” Chinese import Ramen bowl is double walled stainless. But even at home in a Pyrex bowl I get similar results.

This was different........................

Verdict: veggies too hard but nothing that another 10 minutes wouldn’t sort. Nice though.
Sauce was raw heat and far too much Sichuan flavour. Noodles were those glass type which I’m not that fond of! Ended up chucking it down the pan!!!!

Shame as I’ve got a couple more to try that look similar.

Edit: the meat was my addition of leftover Cote De Boeff.........which was nice wink

Im glad that shin cups were mentioned so soon. I lived on them at uni 20 years ago. After a short hiatus they returned for lunch when working from home.

I always put in loads more hot water to make the death lava last longer.

My local cornershop sells them for 70p a cup. They also do the lager cup verson for £1.50.

The MAMA brand are nearly as nice.

all the MAMA brand stuff are great imo, even better the packet noodles instead of the pot. I used to love KOKA noodles as a kid, but after trying them recently they just don't compare. if you like KOKA, then everything else is a step up. MAMA tom yum is worlds apart to the koka verson.
