Just finished a pack of Tesco sausage patties. Can't say I'm impressed, will try Aldi.
Got a friend to go to Tesco for them, none of the staff knew what he was talking about.
So recommended the mince pork you make sausage rolls with. Will let you know when I make them.

I found both of them very bland.

The best option is just buy some decent Cumberland sausages, squeeze the meat out and make your own, 100 times better.

I did that and once I realised that they have to be thin like patties and not fat like burgers, they were pretty good with additional seasoning.

Someone on here reckoned there was lots more to it than just using sausages, but I'm not sure what.

Grease proof paper and a roller, to get them thinner, chill them for a few hours before cooking. Maci dees are essentially Cumberland sausages.

Do you feel a bit odd taking a photo of your plate in a resturant. I always feel a little uncomfortable that people are watching so don't do it much if at all
I was in a restaurant last week and a guy got a tripod out of his bag, he didn't care.

It’s like a stop motion of it disappearing into the bean bowl, post pour.

The toast was ace, just needed 3 more slices! £13 that was, although, again, I removed the eggs and mushrooms. Didn’t get any replacement though, cheeky sods.

The patties are so easy to make and taste so close to macca’s. It’s just pork mince and a few herbs, so 100% meat too! Are the shop patties that?

Sticks.

Yes, can't be any harder than making (beef) burgers. Tesco ones not as bad as you might expect though I've yet to try one.

Pork (96%), Dextrose, Salt, Sage, Parsley, Black Pepper, Preservative (Sodium Metabisulphite), Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Black Pepper Extract, Nutmeg Extract, Coriander Extract.

Agreed , yes you ought to get egg and shroom replacement.

Eta although 'pork' could be tails and eyelids I suppose.

Indeed, a "pork" sausage needs to be at least 42% pork but that 42% can contain up to 25% fat and connective tissue. Yum. laugh

They're nothing like Cumberland. Closest to Lincolnshire IMO - quite sagey. Which is why the Tesco patties are such a close substitute - both for flavour and texture. I've not tried the Aldi ones yet though.

Another Premier Inn effort .... now full table service only (used to do your own toast/coffees etc but that has also now stopped)

Bacon was absolutely rank so pushed to the side.

It's difficult to find anything positive to say about that.

A very sad breakfast and a glass of screech. Could be the start of a tragic salesman-type story.

I had one a couple of years ago. Never again. Chewy skin on the sausages. Disgusting.

Sure this will draw the ire of many here due to a) absence of porcine flesh, b) presence of ungodly green stuff and c) assisted poaching, but frankly it was delicious.

Fried San Marzanos, avocado and a poached egg on toast with a bit of Mexican hot sauce. Would have been perfect with some chorizo thrown in.

Now I'm off to a healthy and virtuous start to my day I can spend the afternoon drinking offensively high ABV German beer.
