If anyone was thinking of buying the Yorkshire Pudding Beer. Don't. It's utter s

Not sure who is in charge of the 'craft' section but it's utter dog dirt. Always has been.
I haven’t really touched alcohol for a few years (other than the Port at Christmas and an odd glass of something in the Summer) but recently fancied a beer and tried the Biscuity one from Aldi. I rather liked it. But I’m far from an expert. ![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

Bought it before and would happily buy it again
Thought I was going to be posting about these in the best crisps thread as Aldi ones I've generally found to be decent.

The reason both were open is the one on the left was about to go in the bin. The one on the right actually followed not long after. I'd recommend avoiding. The Bombay potato ones, rather than being 'hot and spicy' (as on the packet) tasted like a very weak korma with a rather odd after taste, almost as if coconut soap had been used. The spiced tikka ones were just plain poor, lacking any balance in flavour.
Still I reasoned I also bought these

Flavour was fine, not great, however it was as if moisture had got in to the pack before sealing, else the nuts were over steamed/boiled during the shelling/de-poisening process (latter for cashews) as the nuts were often clumped together and lacked bit/texture.
I also got these

The nuts are decent enough, but nothing special, though price wise they are cheap (from what I remember). I know a number of you will tell me I should have bought the salt and vinegar version, but I've not liked that flavour since doing a-level chemistry back in the early 80s. Fingers crossed on the Kentucky Smoked BBQ as I normally like Aldi crisps.
On nuts - if your local Lidl has them in (mine has not since I bought them) - their X-Mas mixed caramelised nuts are addictive.

What a specific thing to say, yet be so relatable! I took it around 2004/5 I remember the smell.I do still enjoy s+v, but the Aldi ones I got a couple of weeks ago tasted like a failed chemistry experiment. They were weird. You were right to avoid them.

It’s the Aldi one. My 21 yr old likes this.
Has anyone tried the new Aldi Raspberry Vodka or the Raost Coffee Rum? As seen here

I’ve not but I tried the Aldi orange flavoured gin a couple of months ago and it was crap. I concluded that named brands are always best for stuff like that.Has anyone tried the new Aldi Raspberry Vodka or the Raost Coffee Rum? As seen here

Good to see my Aldi had stock again today of the Snackrite S&V peanuts.
Not sure if it’s new but they are also doing a bigger bag, with different branding, and a suggestion that they are for sharing? Don’t think so…

ETA* - the Loaded version are far superior.

..Now I'm hooked. The bag lasted less an episode of Porridge on iPlayer... and likewise: No - I didn't share them!

I have somehow managed to limit my consumption of the loaded S&V nuts to a few handfuls here and there... Also tried the honey roast variety but wasn’t blown away by them.
Today I tried the Snackrite Wasabi peas which are ok but not that special.
- ETA the last handful of Loaded S&V turned into the whole bag. It’s like a narcotic!

I did pick up the Lidl Irish Cream at the weekend as the 1l bottles were on offer at £9.99. I have however secured a .75l bottle of original Baileys for £8 so will ‘keep that for Christmas’.

Had this for dinner tonight and I was not that impressed with it. The pastry is acceptable but the filling in no way resembles the photo on the box. I don't think I found any chunks of meat larger than 5mm cubed and there was far too much thyme added which overpowered the other flavours. I would not buy this again.
