Alas my poor Krups Inissia may be on it's final legs/pods after 7 years. To be honest in the last few years, since I bought the Vertuo, it has not been used much (Vertuo suits me better as I prefer longer coffees and I found a number of pods that really work for me). I've had a drip through the red seal at the bottom of the water tank for a while now, but now if powered off, when on it just serves up 70ml of water regardless of what button you press, factory resetting is hit/miss and when it does work, the power cycles loses the fix (lungho should be 110ml and espresso 40ml).
Only real catch is I still have ~30 Nespresso pods for use with iced coffee during the summer and ..... just bought one box of each of the coffees (aside from the decaf) that Hotel Chocolat sell. At least that's just 40 more pods and they were 70% off in a sale.
Have a look on Gumtree in your local area & you may well find a cheap replacement. My Inissia died & I picked up another for £15, or you could flog off your unused pods as they seem to sell fairly easily at the right price.Only real catch is I still have ~30 Nespresso pods for use with iced coffee during the summer and ..... just bought one box of each of the coffees (aside from the decaf) that Hotel Chocolat sell. Good call, though I'd wonder if anything I picked up will be as bad as mine Interesting side note and kudos (so far to Nespresso). I contacted them through their web interface, did not mention the odd water measures (which seem to have fixed themselves ...) however started with the fact the machine is well out of warranty and asked about how if could replace the seal in the tank. Apparently I have a replacement water tank on it's way to me \00/

I have a Vertuo machine but fed up of having to buy coffee from Nespresso. Has anyone tried the replacement foil lids or reusable lids?
What’s making you fed up? I find the deliver and collect service really convenient.Challo said:
I agree on that side of it, but annoying there are no alternatives like you can get with the standard nespresso pods
Ah. I think the unofficial pods is largely the reason that Vertuo exists.I like the Vertuo capsules well enough that I don’t bother looking elsewhere. I’m usually out and about anyway so don’t end up using Nespresso that much these days as all my places have ‘proper’ coffee and I buy on the go a lot too.

Some of the Vertuo pods are nearly £1 each, which is ridiculous.
We average £100 a month on Vertuo pods, we were spending much less on the smaller aftermarket capsules for our old machine.
So we now spend more, but drink less.
We switched as I was using two of the little pods for each coffee. We average £100 a month on Vertuo pods, we were spending much less on the smaller aftermarket capsules for our old machine.

We’ve got builders in at the moment, with one exception they all drink coffee and my wife was making them Nespresso three times a day. We’ve been in rented accommodation for a month and the saving on pods goes a good way towards covering the cost!

In eight years when the protection expires on the Vertuo pods in 2030 there will be.
And then Nespresso will introduce yet another design.
Meh, I’m perfectly happy using ‘proper’ capsulesAnd then Nespresso will introduce yet another design.

I got some Carte Noire capsules off Amazon in the sale, they are better(in my opinion) than the Nespresso ones.
The Duralit ones from Costco are a bit st.
Bought a massive pack of Dualit ones and more than half of them jam the machine. Big fan of the cafepod brand - the brunch blend one is fantastic. The Duralit ones from Costco are a bit st.
Yankee Bundles have Starbucks pods in again - about 15 or 16p a pod:

Been Nespresso free for a month now. as predicted, the savings I made have all been lost the electric bill, and then some.
Not been missing it. We have been buying M&S ground coffee and Costco "Lavazzo" brand instead. However my wife has decided that we must make it as strong as humanly possible so not realised our full potential saving. Still, £4 a week is a lot better than £82 for 6 weeks (£9 ish a week saving), even If i am the poor bugger that has to clean the cafeteria.

What the whole cafeteria - chairs on the tables & mop the floor type job? That's a bit much. Not been missing it. We have been buying M&S ground coffee and Costco "Lavazzo" brand instead.
